Sun in Libra, Full Moon in Aries – Find Your Optimal Place on the Feminine-Masculine Axis

September 23, 2023

The sun entered Libra at the end of last week and we are approaching the full moon in Aries with sun in Libra at the end of this week.

The axis of Libra – Aries is a main theme for 2023 and 2024, with north node in Aries and most eclipses in Aries or Libra.

What exactly does it mean? The north node directs us towards the evolution we need to go through. It never stands alone, but always in relation to the opposite pole. The south node expresses what we want in life but can never achieve without cultivating the qualities of the north node.

For example, if our north node is in Aries, we want to have a good marriage (Libra) but won’t be able to obtain it, unless we learn to stand up for ourselves (Aries). If our north node is in Libra, we want to be pioneers (Aries), but won’t be able to do so, unless we learn to cooperate with others (Libra).

This coming full moon in Aries gives us a great opportunity to find our optimal place on this axis.

Libra represents feminine energy and is ruled by Venus, the goddess of love and beauty. Libra is charming, popular, beautiful, artistic, diplomatic, and harmonious. She gets what she wants by attracting and magnetizing things to herself, or by diplomacy, charm, and gentleness. Being popular and liked is important to her. She tends to be agreeable and pleasing, sometimes to a fault. At her highest form, she is a peacemaker and an artist who lives in abundance, engaged in harmonious relationships, and expresses herself freely and authentically.

Aries represents masculine energy and is ruled by Mars, the god of war. Aries is raw, rough, physical, energetic, assertive, and passionate. He is a warrior, activist, initiator, and pioneer. He is direct and honest, makes up his mind in a split of a second, and acts with courage and boldness. He is a man of actions, not words; when he wants something, he goes and gets it. He can be competitive, feisty, aggressive, impatient and impulsive but in his higher form he fights for peace and justice and makes the world a better place.

Regardless of our gender, we all have feminine and masculine energies within us. We do not need to balance these energies! Some of us are more feminine, some are more masculine, and this is how it should be. But, if we are not where we want to be in life, it might be helpful to examine if we need to find a new place on the Libra-Aries axis.

People with insufficient masculine energy can be pleasing and agreeable in a way that makes them repressed and inauthentic. They are indecisive, hesitant, insecure, and afraid to take risks. They are codependent and always wait for someone else to decide for them. They idealize people and think that the world should be perfect, so they live in a constant feeling of disappointment and dissatisfaction. They put others’ needs before their own and therefore, deplete and exhaust themselves.

People with insufficient feminine energy can be too pushy, bossy, feisty and aggressive. They are those who start wars. They don’t care about anyone else but themselves. They don’t have the capacity to understand what others need, because they never listen to anyone except for their inner voice. They are so competitive that its tiring to be around them. Their impulsiveness and impatience cause them to make wrong decisions that hurt them in the long run.

Sometimes we embody too much feminine or masculine energy in one area of life, and different, even opposite qualities in another area of life. For example, through most of my life, I was too masculine at work, and too feminine in my relationships. At work I was pushy, feisty, and aggressive. In my relationships, I was pleasing, agreeable, codependent and indecisive.

My personal evolution was to cultivate more masculinity in my relationships and more femininity at work.

Today, I am not competitive with my fellow astrologers. On the contrary, I want them all to thrive. I know that their success supports me as much as my success supports them. I love to cooperate with others; it brings me so much joy when I can help.

In my marriage, it took me a lot of courage to tell my husband that we had to move to the US because this was what I wanted, even though he did not. Then, after we already bought a house that my husband really loved, it took me a lot of nerve to demand that we move to a new house that addressed our needs better. It took a lot of daring to ask that my husband do more parenting and household duties, while also been the main provider. I realized that if I would not have enough time to invest in my career, I would never get to where I want to be.

Most of us need to do some work to bring our masculine and feminine energies to an optimal place.

On this Libra season week leading to the full moon in Aries, ask yourself:

  1. What feminine and masculine qualities do I embody in my work and in my relationships?
  2. What do I want to change in my life? What does not work for me?
  3. Do I need to cultivate more masculine or more feminine qualities to get myself where I want to be?
  4. Make a commitment to do one thing this week that will help you cultivate the qualities that are not your strongest suit.

Don’t forget to tell me how it worked 🙂

Sending you much love from our new and beautiful home,

Yael
