This week the sun, Mercury, and Jupiter are in Aries.

Aries is the first zodiac sign. It relates to The Fool tarot cards. When the sun enters Aries, we embark on a new journey. We have a chance to start all over again, to turn a page.

Aries does not carry the burden of emotional memories and childhood wounds. Aries knows to fall and get back on her feet. Just like a warrior.

Aries is fully awake and alert. She is always ready to fight and start something new.

I always thought I was a fiery person. I was known for my hot temper. Since I turned fifteen, I started loving dancing and drinking. That led to some reckless behaviors. The situation got out of hand when I was eighteen and my mother died. Dancing, drinking, and hanging out with random men was my way of escaping my pain.

But unlike fiery people, I was overly sensitive.

Trying to pretend I was fiery got me into trouble. I married the wrong man. I lived in the wrong city. I did too many drugs and too little exercise.

Only when I got deep with astrology, I learned that my strong elements were water and air. I found that fire was actually my missing element.

My midheaven is in Aries. The midheaven represents career and public persona. This is why I always wanted to be perceived as an Aries.

I needed to learn to cultivate healthy Aries energies.

Aries is all about obtaining your goals. You want something, you go get it. You don’t think too much about it. You don’t strategize about it. You act with bravery and courage.

Aries has the innocence of a child. Maybe that’s why it is compared with The Fool.  

The more we mature the more fear and disbelief we accumulate. We get hurt and wounded. We get burnt. We better understand the risks involved.

Aries is free from this burden. She acts in faith. She is here to make things happen and nothing can stop her.

My Aries brother was sick with leukemia when he was thirteen. All the doctors were amazed by his good spirit and optimism. He just knew he was going to fight the disease. He had no doubt he was going to win, and he won. He totally came out of it and has led a healthy life ever since.

Aries season is asking us to look at our goals and act to achieve them with enthusiasm. You want to wake up every morning feeling alive like you’ve never felt before. You want to feel the fire of passion burning inside of you, spreading into everything you do.

Since I remember myself, I’ve always dreamt of becoming an author. I was always jealous of all my friends who published their books. Aries is very competitive.

Last year, I took the Elephant Academy writing course and was faced with my fears and disbelief. This year, as a mentor in the same program, I see how much confidence I gained throughout the past year. A lot of it is thanks to you who enjoy reading my posts and write me your beautiful feedback.

With this confidence, I set up a goal to sign a contract on my book this coming year. What is your goal for this astrology year? Please share it with me. Make a statement. It will take you one step towards achieving it.

Aries lives out of a sense of purpose. You are here to do something, obtain something, achieve something, give something to the world. What do you have to offer to the world? How can you do it?

Don’t think too much about it. Just do it. Be spontaneous, be courageous, be brave. Dare to do the things that scare you. These are the things that are usually most rewarding. Whenever you see an obstacle, jump over it.   

Ganesh is the Hindu God that is associated with Aries. He is the God of new beginnings. He is believed to remove obstacles from our paths.

There are two more important things to note about this Aries season.

One is that Mars, the ruler of Aries, is in Cancer throughout this Aries season. This adds an emotional, spiritual quality.

The best way to use Aries energies, is to connect your actions with your heart. This will be easier as Jupiter, the planet of heart expansion, joy, and luck, will conjunct the sun from this coming Wednesday all through Aries season.

In the low road, Aries can be unsensitive and detached. She does not want to delve into the pain, so she dismisses it and suppresses it. But even the strongest Aries is still a human being. She has to deal with her pain and emotions.

Mars in Cancer asks that we learn to use the strength of Aries to process our emotions rather than escaping them.

Jupiter conjunct sun asks us to follow our hearts. The heart is full of compassion and love to all sentient beings.

Jupiter is here to help you trust yourself. Trust that if you want something, there is a good reason for it. Trust that the world is here to support you in achieving your goals. The world wants you to succeed in giving your gifts. This is the whole purpose for your being here.
