Uranus Conjunct North Node in Taurus, Sun in Leo – Wake Up Your Passion, Improve Your Relationship with Money

July 30, 2022

Last night I got back from a very empowering week in Hawaii, where I visited my inspiring teacher, Debra Silverman. You can see pictures and read about it on my Instagram.

Sunday, July 31, is a big day. Uranus, Mars, and the North Node will be at the same degree in Taurus. This conjunction happens once about every fifteen years, but the last time it happened in Taurus was 180 C.E and the next time will be in 2357.

The North Node is not a planet or a cosmic body. It is a point where the moon’s path meets the ecliptic path. In astrology, the North Node represents our evolutionary path. When the North Node is in Taurus, it means that we need to evolve to be more practical and good with money, to enjoy routine and the simple things in life, to know that slow and steady wins the race.

Uranus brings unexpected, sometimes even shocking changes. It is like the Joker card, very unpredictable, but also futurist, advanced, free, and rebellious.

Uranus conjunct North Node in Taurus looks like a Wall Street Lawyer waking up inside an embryonic pod, hairless and naked, with thick black tubes plugged into his body. Just like Neo woke up in The Matrix movie. It is a scary moment, but it is also a moment of truth.

The magnitude of this conjunction depends on you. The more aware, flexible, and open you are, the less shocking it will be. The whole purpose of this conjunction is to wake you up to all issues related to money, the material world, and to your ability to slow down and enjoy the simple things in life.

The sun is still in Leo. I already talked about Leo teaching us to shine, and to deal with our confidence and insecurities. Today I’d like to talk about passion. Leo is a very romantic and passionate sign.

On my way to Hawaii, I read Pema Chodron’s book The Places That Scare You. When I read this, I closed the book:

“May we dwell in the great equanimity free from passion, aggression, and prejudice.”

Free from passion? I do not want to be free from passion. I want to live, and what is life without passion? Can you think about someone who does not have any passion in her? Would you want to be that person? Now think about someone passionate. These are the people who inspire us, like my teacher, Debra Silverman.

Would she become an internationally renowned astrologer and have the best astrology school in the world, if she did not have passion for what she does? Passion is the fuel of every creation, every evolution. Neo would not have woken up if he did not have passion to find the truth.

One of the books that transformed my life entirely was The Lion Roar, by Chogyam Trungpa. In this book, the Buddhist master explains the principle of the five Buddha families.

We are not … expected to be uniform and regimented, to be ideally enlightened and absolutely cool and kind and wise.” This is the point where I sigh with relief. He continues, “The five Buddha principles are the different expressions of basic sanity.”

Each of us belong to one or more of the buddha families. I will not explain the whole principle, but I will mention the Padma family, which is very passionate and seductive. It magnetizes people and things so that it can make love to them.

I think one of the problems with some Buddhist teachings today, is that they do try to uniform us.

Sun in Leo is here to connect you with your passion. Don’t ever give up on that. If you can’t find your passion, you must wake up and do something about it. Find at least one thing that you feel passionate about, one person that you feel passion for, and allow yourself to be filled with this warm motivating power.

Then, take this passion and apply it also to your relationship with practicality and money. It’s true that Taurus is not the most passionate sign of the zodiac, even though it is very sensual and sexy, but learning a new skill, like being good with money, does requires passion.

The fact that Mars joins the Uranus North Node conjunction can help you with that, as it brings its fiery, passionate energy into the picture.

Have a wonderful week,

With love,

Yael
