Live Your Body, Reach Your Soul

The Solar Eclipse in Aries is coming to teach us that living in our bodies is the key to solving our problems and reaching emotional and spiritual well-being. But there is a lot more to living in our bodies than exercising. Here is how to do it.

The Solar Eclipse in Aries is coming to teach us that living in our bodies is the key to solving our problems and reaching emotional and spiritual well-being. But there is a lot more to living in our bodies than exercising. Here is how to do it.

“You want to be successful and to appear successful. Your social status is important to you”, I told a client last week. She admitted these were important to her but felt she should have been above that. She believed there was a higher version of herself to whom these things did not matter.

This is a common, repeating theme I encounter in my sessions. Many of us believe we should not feel what we feel, want what we want, or think what we think. We are supposed to be better, more spiritual, without our obsessions and addictions. We are supposed to be pure, good, and spiritual.

We feel shame and guilt about everything that does not correspond with the Buddha-like version of ourselves. We repress our emotions, desires, and thoughts to pretend we are the soulful version we imagine we should be.

As a result, we lose our authenticity. By faking our desires, emotions, and thoughts, we attract the wrong people and circumstances into our lives.

Our actual problem is not that we don’t embody the spiritual version of ourselves; our problem is that we don’t live in our bodies.

We have just entered Aries season and are approaching the New Moon and Solar Eclipse in Aries.

Aries is the sign of physical embodiment, movement, action, and simple truth.

Did you know that in astrology, the body and the soul are both represented by the rising sign?

If you want to embody your soul, you must start living your body. And most chances are, you don’t, because most of us don’t. Let me explain.

In another fascinating session I had with a psychotherapist this week, he admitted that, in some cases, therapy does not help. He confessed feeling frustrated because he wanted to help with all his heart.

Aries’ wisdom can point out one significant problem with therapy or, more precisely, our expectations of it. The simple truth is that we can’t solve our problems by merely talking about them.

We can learn much from a therapy session and gain insights about our situation. But at the end of the day, we need to bring our insights into the physical realm. We need to embody them through our bodies. We need to feel our emotions in the body, move our bodies, and take action.

If we don’t act on our gained psychological insights to change our lives for the better, we can go to therapy all day long and stay stuck.

The ancient Greeks developed the concept of a healthy mind in a healthy body. They emphasized physical achievements as much as intellectual achievements. They understood that to have a well-rounded, whole personality, you had to be strong in both your mind and body.

Our education systems barely integrate some physical activity as a biweekly “special.” Most adults I know don’t get more than three hours of movement a week. We analyze our emotions instead of feeling them through our bodies. We are so busy consuming information, communicating, and sitting in front of screens that we only pay attention to our bodies when they are in pain.

A few months ago, I got back to practicing with Tracy Anderson, a streamlined program I used to love a few years back.

Tracy has a unique philosophy. She believes we must move our bodies differently every week to challenge our brain-body connection. She claims that her saddle-nuanced movements directly influence the amygdala, the part of our brain that processes emotions, mainly fear and anxiety.

The impact of her practice is mind-blowing. It not only shaped my body and brought me back to my early-thirties weight and size, but I also feel more passionate and confident, less anxious, and less stressed. I naturally make better decisions that support my well-being.

I am not here to promote Tracy’s method—I don’t get any commission from her; she does not even know me. But she inspired me to live in my body, which has changed my whole life experience. Instead of looking high above to seek my soulful self, I live in my body and embody my soulful self.

I used to think that my body was the temple of my soul, but now I know my body is my soul. When I connect with my physical body, everything starts making sense, and joy flows more naturally.

This week, ask yourself how you can live more in your body. How can you move from the intellectual to the physical? Do you need to exercise more or move your body more? Have you been talking about taking action for too long and now need to act? Do you feel your feet on the ground as you walk? Do you feel your emotions in your body? – if you don’t know how to do that, no worries – I will soon teach a master class that will help you with that.

Living your body will also help you develop resilience to the impacts of Venus retrograde, Mercury retrograde, and the eclipse season.

Have a wonderful week,

With love,

Yael

Fulfilling your purpose is not about what you do but how you do it! In this masterclass, I will teach you how to embody your purpose wherever you are. I’d love to see you there!
