Full Moon in Capricorn – Use Your Emotional Connection as a Powerful Tool for Success

July 10, 2022

The last few days of moon in Scorpio were characterized by emotional intensity. I felt it very strongly as it has been three years since the early passing of my great teacher and friend Maty Ezraty. I wrote her a letter on Elephant Journal and I invite you to read it.

Today the moon enters Sagittarius and brings some optimism and positivity.

On Tuesday, July 12, the moon enters Capricorn and on Wednesday the 13, there is a full moon in Capricorn. This full moon opens a dialogue between the sun sign, Cancer, and the opposite moon sign, Capricorn.

Both Capricorn and Cancer are great parents and businesspeople. They know to take a good care of themselves and of others. They care about their home and status.

But while Cancer is the mother, Capricorn is the father. Cancer cares about emotional nourishment, Capricorn cares about discipline, hard work, achievements, and results. For Capricorn, things need to be practical. For Cancer, emotional connection is more important than any achievement. Family is more important than career.

It’s not that Capricorns are not connected with their emotions. They are. It’s just that they don’t wear their hearts on their sleeves, like Cancers. They seek to keep things under control. They can feel very deeply, but they tend to reason themselves and find the way out of any emotional mess. Capricorns love things to be structured, and emotions are not structured.

It’s not that Cancers don’t care about success. They do. But they can sometimes let their emotions and pain get the better of them. Cancers are so often overwhelmed with the pain of the human experience, while Capricorns give them all the reasons to snap out of it. Sometimes it’s good to listen to Capricorn, to find balance and not to drown in your sorrow. But sometimes it’s better to quiet this voice and stay with your emotional mess because this is where your treasure is buried.

“We are…like a blind person who finds a jewel buried in a heap of garbage. Right here in what we’d like to throw away, in what we find repulsive and frightening, we discover the warmth and clarity of bodhichitta.”

~ Pema Chodron, The Places That Scare You

On this full moon, we seek to balance between the energies of Cancer and Capricorn; the soft mother who wants you to be emotionally nourished, and the demanding father who shows you a good example of how to get what you want in life.

Ask yourself:

  • Do my emotions or my family role stand in my way of fulfilling my dreams?
  • Does the fulfilment of my dreams stand in my way of being emotionally nourished and of nourishing my family?

The key is to allow yourself to be emotionally connected and use this connection to be better at whatever you do. We are so used to perceiving emotions and sensitivity as disadvantages, while we ignore how much power they unfold.

When you learn to be with all your emotions; your fears and doubts, your lusts and cravings, your hatred and jealousy, you connect with what’s real, you see more clearly, you have a better understanding of yourself and of others. Sensitivity is a gift! It allows you to be intuitive and sense things that others don’t.

You can use these gifts to benefit your business and your career, no matter what you do. A strong sense of home and good relationships with your family, can help you succeed. When things are shaky at home, it’s a distraction. When you are not emotionally nourished, you can’t flourish.

Cancers need a sense of direction, they need to have some ambition, otherwise they can get depressed very easily. Capricorns can give Cancers a good reason to get up in the morning, even in days of emotional turmoil and pain. Capricorns want to be in service to humanity. They want to do good in the world, and they want to be good at it. Cancers can relate to this goal and be motivated by it.

This week Pluto is opposite sun, so it’s all about finding your power in your vulnerability, finding your jewel inside the heap of garbage.

Let’s all find our jewels and make a gigantic neckless to encircle the entire world.

Have a wonderful week,

With Love,

Yael
